Charles and Karen Dodds head the Cutting Room Creative team as Creative Directors. They are a multi award winning pair, having won the title of North Western Hairdresser of the year in 2002, 2003 and 2004. They have also won the Northern region of the L'Oreal Colour Trophy three times.
The pair have been involved in some spectacular show work, having been on stage at the Royal Albert Hall after winning the Visionary Award in 2004 and performing to an audience of 4000 in Las Vegas for TIGI.
Charles and Karen demonstrate their work in the UK and all over the world and to date have visited Italy, France, India, Korea and Republic of Ireland.
Karen has been nominated for British Colour Technician of the Year and it is her ambition to win this most coveted award one day.
Their passion and creativity echoes through the whole team who they lead and inspire.
Spurred on by their success, the pair entered other prestigious awards including, Cosmopolitan Hairdresser of the Year, (which they took runner-up) and Creative Heads' Most Wanted, (where they were awarded one of the three most directional looks of the year).
The L'Oreal Colour Trophy competition has been a favourite of the pair for many years. They have been regional finalists throughout all three categories a staggering eight times, and regional winners four times.
Local media and radio frequently call on them for quotes or views and they are often to be heard on Radio Leeds or Radio 4 Women’s Hour.
As members of the L'Oreal Portfolio of Artistic Hairdressers they have been asked to demonstrate collections to the group and have produced photo shoots for the twice yearly collections and Vogue magazine.
